Wayfare is a road trip planner. This page explains what we store, why, and how you stay in control. We do not sell your data and we do not show ads.
What we store
- Your Google account basics when you sign in with Google: your name, email address, profile picture and Google account id. We ask Google for nothing else.
- What you create: trips, stops, saved places, notes, reviews and settings.
- Without an account, trips stay in your browser on your device and never reach our servers.
- Anonymous usage counts: which pages are visited and how many trips are started, tied to a random id, never to your name or email.
Why
Only to run Wayfare: to sign you in, keep your trips in sync across devices, let you share a trip when you choose to, and see which features people use so we can improve them.
Who helps us run it
- Google: sign-in, and place search, details and photos.
- Cloudflare: hosting the website.
- Neon: the database, stored in Frankfurt, Germany.
- PostHog (EU): the anonymous usage counts.
Each only receives what it needs to do its part.
Sharing
Your trips are private. A trip becomes visible to others only when you create a share link for it, and you can turn that link off.
Your control
In Settings you can download everything stored for your account, or delete your account with all its trips, saves and reviews. Deletion is immediate and permanent. You can also email us to access, correct or delete your data.
